Scottish Highland Dance

The City of Modesto Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods Department is proud to offer Scottish Highland Dance class. Scottish Highland Dance has a long tradition in Scottish Heritage. It uses the elegance of ballet-like positions with hops and jumps that require stamina. Unlike any other type of dance, Scottish Highland Dance uses stories of Scotland and the music of bagpipes to tell stories through each dance.

All classes meet on Thursdays, May 8 through June 12, at the Modesto Senior Citizens Center, located at 211 Bodem Street. Classes are held as follows:

• 6-9 years of age: 6:30-7:30 p.m., $50 registration fee
• 10-15 years of age: 7:30-8:30 p.m., $50 registration fee
