Freedom Neighborhood Park Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
The City of Modesto will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony
at Freedom Neighborhood Park (2100 Maid Mariane Lane) on Saturday, March
31 at 10:30 a.m.
Freedom Neighborhood Park is the second of three neighborhood parks developed in Village One, which include; the nine-acre Ustach Neighborhood Park, located on Hillglen Avenue at Bear Cub Lane, and the seven-acre Sanders Neighborhood Park, located on the corner of Kodiak Drive and Litt Road, which is under construction and scheduled for completion this fall.
The construction for Freedom
Neighborhood Park was completed by Goodland Landscape Construction, Inc. of Tracy, California. The park encompasses a children’s play area with play apparatus, park furniture, drinking fountains, walking paths, basketball court, water play area, family picnic areas, a picnic shade structure, restroom facility, park sign and security lighting.
“Freedom Neighborhood Park serves as a symbol of the wonderful country we live in,” said Mayor Jim Ridenour. “The park will be a great place that families will enjoy for many years to come.”
Callander Associates Landscape Architecture, Inc. of Rancho Cordova, California, designed the park. Funding for the construction was provided through the City of Modesto Parks Capital Facility Fees, Village One Community Facilities District Tax, Congestion Management & Air Quality Grant Program and Local Gas Tax.
The ceremony will include comments from Mayor Jim Ridenour, city staff,
Freedom Elementary School Principal Laura Wharff, and Oscar Diaz, a 6th
grade student at Daniel Savage Middle School.
