City Clerk's Office

The City Clerk is appointed by the Modesto City Council and is responsible for recording the minutes of council meetings; maintaining all records of council business, including a record of the adoption, amendment, and repeal of ordinances and resolutions; supervising the conduct of city and Board of Education elections; and acting as the custodian of all city records. The City Clerk receives all claims against the city and checks financial transactions to assure that proper accounting procedures are followed.
